An avid animal lover, Loren is the Author of two books for the Benefactory: Caesar: On Deaf Ears (1997) and Norman to the Rescue (2000). Loren lives in rural Northwestern, New Jersey with her Field Spaniel, Smokey, and several pet birds.

A freelance writer specializing in animal subjects (with an emphasis on dogs), Loren has written two pet-care books: MACAWS and SIAMESE CATS, published by T.F. H. Publications. Her newest title, The Sporting Spaniel Handbook, was recently release by Barron's Educational Series. Loren's feature articles have appeared in numerous magazines such as: Better Homes and Gardens, Ladies' Home Journal, New Choices, American Health, Careers and the Disabled, PetLife, Animals, Dog Fancy, Cat Fancy, and Bird Talk.

A member of the Dog Writer's Association of America, Loren has received communications awards and honors from this organization. She is also a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
