Kerry, illustrator of Kirsty's Surprise (2000), lives in Minnesota with her husband, daughter, and cat. She studied art at Indiana University and worked as a portrait artist prior to illustrating books. Her previous children's books include a series of biographies about creative minds and environmentalists such as Dr. Seuss and Ansel Adams.
